stop this

You would think,
“She’ll be fine, she’s strong.
She’s fierce; she’s moved on.”
Oh, she is smiling now
And laughing carelessly, too.

But the wound runs too deep.
In her smiles, she feels like crying;
In her laughter, she feels like choking.
In her prayers, she wishes
For her memories to fade away,
Along with the grief and sadness,
The unwanted feelings cast aside.
She can no longer stand this;
It’s so hard to bear—
It pulls the life out of her.

She wants it to stop.
Even if it turns her heart
Ice cold,
Blue.
