Regretful parting.
Like tasting something sour
With every phrase I said,
Yet you still fake a smile,
Hiding behind built-up lies.
I told you to let go,
Instead of bottling it all up.
But your purest soul whispered,
"I don't want to hurt you."
So why is it always you
Who ends up hurting the most?
It was pure joy,
Watching you grow annoyed
At every attempt I made,
Running towards you—oh, I tried.
For I’ve always hoped
This would stay as a memory—
Of you, of me.
Keep me in your heart,
Not forever, but just for a while.
Keep me in your mind,
For I’ll be missing you.
Once I’m gone,
Take care.
And I’m sorry—for everything, for who I am.
And please, let go. It won’t hurt—just let me go.
